The HSC Health Care System is seeking a part-time Communications Intern to join a growing, impactful team. The Communications Intern will play a vital role in providing strategic communication and marketing assistance, and will work directly with the communications team to ensure successful execution of communications tactics. Key responsibilities will include assisting with daily media monitoring for trending health care news and policy changes; supporting various marketing campaigns; helping to develop and manage the System’s social media accounts; and helping to design and develop a System newsletter that is sent to over 500 employees. The ideal candidate will have a history of hard work, with a passion for marketing and public relations campaigns. As such, the communications intern will support the design of print and online materials. The intern may also help the communications team with advertising and fundraising activities, as needed.

Minimum Experience Requirements: Demonstrates strong writing, editing and presentation skills. Possesses a key understanding of social media. Shows an interest in health care. Possesses strong time management skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. Pays attention to detail and has excellent organizational and computer skills. Expertise with Microsoft Office required; experience or familiarity Adobe Creative Suite a plus. Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively. Shows respect and sensitivity to the disability community, although previous disability experience is not required, and has a desire to work within diverse environments and cultures.
Minimum Education Requirement(s): Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university; preferred studies include journalism, public relations, marketing or government relations.
